That is all from this match. Two wins and two losses for both teams now. Time for another match in the CPL. Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on the 2nd of this month at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us for the build up. Cheers!
Alick Athanaze is the Player of the Match. He says it was a special knock after the loss in the previous game. Adds he started slow but he was confident to catch up in the end. Reckons it was a good wicket to bat on. Tells it was about targeting the bowlers and he tried his best. Shares the skipper is always positive and keeps encouraging all the players.
Jamaica Tallawahs knew they were 15-20 runs short. Apart from Shamarh Brooks, no one chipped in with runs. Imad Wasim played a cameo but Jamaica Tallawahs needed more than that. Definitely, the pitch was a bit sluggish but Jamaica Tallawahs needed more runs from top order. In reply, the bowling group started well, Mohammad Amir and Chris Green were pretty impressive but got no able support. They lacked composure in the back end which Jamaica Tallawahs will hope to rectify in the next game.
Barbados Royals needed a formidable score but were not helped at the start as lost both the openers cheaply. However, they got the chase back on track with Alick Athanaze and Laurie Evans backing each other. Alick Athanaze was the aggressor while Evans hold it from one end. Once, the pitch got easy to bat on, the runs started to flow, Alick Athanaze got to his fifty and eventually, Rovman Powell and Jason Holder came in to do the finishing job.
A well calculated chase by the Royals. Rovman Powell mentioned in the last game that they are giving away too many runs lately but in this game, they executed the role pretty well and are back to winning ways.

BR vs JT Preview

The Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs will face off in Match 14 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 on Friday, September 1 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The Royals are currently fifth in the table with three points and a net run rate of -2.892 thanks to one win in four matches. They slumped to a demoralizing 133-run defeat at the hands of Trinbago Knight Riders in their last match.

The Tallawahs, on the other hand, are in third place with six points and a net run rate of +0.428. They have won three of their five matches, but they were beaten by the St Lucia Kings in their last game.

Both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways in this match. The Royals will be hoping that their star batter, Glenn Phillips, can fire after a quiet start to the tournament. Phillips has scored just 63 runs in four innings at an average of 15.75.

The Tallawahs will be relying on their experienced batsmen, like Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks, to get them off to a good start. King has scored 204 runs in five innings at an average of 40.80, while Brooks has scored 135 runs at an average of 27.

The bowling will be key in this match. The Royals have a good spin attack led by Jason Holder and Hayden Walsh Jr. The Tallawahs also have a strong spin attack with Imad Wasim and Akeal Hosein.

The weather forecast for the match is for a partly cloudy day with a slight chance of rain. The temperature is expected to be around 29 degrees Celsius.

The toss will be important in this match. The team that wins the toss should bat first as the pitch is expected to be good for batting early on.

The match is evenly poised and it is difficult to predict a winner. However, the Tallawahs are the slight favorites based on their recent form.

BR vs JT Pitch Report

The National Stadium in Grenada is a good batting surface, with plenty of runs on offer. However, the bowlers will also find some assistance, especially early on in the innings. The pitch is expected to be dry and hard, with a bit of grass cover. The average first innings score at this venue in the CPL is 140 runs.

The Royals will be looking to capitalize on the batting-friendly conditions and post a big score. They have a strong batting line-up, led by Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews. Dottin is a destructive batter who can hit the ball all over the park, while Matthews is a versatile all-rounder who can contribute with both bat and ball.

BR vs JT Weather Report

The weather will be clean and there are no chances of rain.
