Woakes was born in Birmingham in March 1989, and from 2000 to 2007, she attended Barr Beacon Language College. When he was seven years old, he joined the Aston Manor Cricket Club and started playing cricket. He participated in three games for Herefordshire County Cricket Club in the 2006 Minor Counties Trophy, and from 2004 to 2007 he played for Warwickshire’s under-15, under-17, academy, and Second XI teams.
