Fakhar Zaman is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the Pakistan national cricket team and the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League.
On July 20, 2018, he became the first Pakistani batsman to score a double century in a One Day International (ODI) match. Two days later, he became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 runs in ODIs.[5] In August 2018, he was one of thirty-three players awarded a core contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the 2018-19 season.

Zaman was born on April 10, 1990, in Katlang in the Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She moved to Karachi at the age of 16 after matriculating. In 2007, Zaman joined the Pakistan Navy as a seaman after receiving education and training from him at sea at the Pakistan Navy School, Bahadur.
His career choice was persuaded by his father, who was dissuaded by Fakhar’s childhood cricket addiction and wanted his son to concentrate on his studies. The name Fakhar literally translates to “pride.” Among his teammates, he is known by the nickname fauji (soldier).
In 2012, he represented the Navy at the International Defense Cricket Challenge Cup in Australia and was named the tournament’s best player. Later in 2020, he was awarded the honorary rank of lieutenant by the navy in recognition of his contribution to cricket.

In Karachi, he continued to play cricket occasionally in interdepartmental matches, including representations for the Pakistan Navy cricket team. He was first identified by his navy coach, Azam Khan, who encouraged him to pursue professional cricket.
In 2013, he left his naval career after a “difficult decision” in pursuit of this dream and started appearing in regional teams like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abbottabad Falcons, Balochistan, and various Karachi teams. He became the second leading run scorer in the 2016 Pakistan Cup and also impressed the selectors in the 2016-17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
In January 2021, he was named in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s squad for the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup.

In March 2017, Fakhar Zaman was included in Pakistan’s limited-overs squad for their matches against West Indies. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan against West Indies on March 30, 2017.
In April 2017, he was included in Pakistan’s One Day International (ODI) squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. He made his ODI debut for Pakistan against South Africa in the Champions Trophy on June 7, 2017, scoring 31 careers.
In the final against India, Fakhar Zaman outplayed the goalkeeper, when he was on 3, but survived because there was no ball. After that, Zaman scored his first ODI century and helped Pakistan post a total of 338. With that, Zaman became the first batsman from Pakistan to score a century in an ICC event final.

On July 20, 2018, in the fourth ODI against Zimbabwe, Fakhar Zaman became the first batsman from Pakistan to score a double century in ODI, finishing 210 not out. In the same match, he and Imam-ul-Haq made the highest opening partnership in ODI, scoring 304 runs. His innings boosted Pakistan’s total to 399, which was his highest ever ODI score.
Two days later, in the fifth match of the series, Fakhar Zaman became the fastest player to score 1,000 runs in ODIs.
