Galle Titans and B-Love Kandy will face off in the Qualifier 2 of the Lanka Premier League T20 on August 19 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The Titans come into this match on the back of a loss in Qualifier 1 against Dambulla Aura. They were restricted to 144-7 in their 20 overs, and Aura chased down the target with 4 wickets and 14 balls to spare.

The Titans’ batting has been their strength this season, with opener Kusal Mendis and skipper Bhanuka Rajapaksa both scoring heavily. They also have the experience of Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya de Silva in the middle order.

Their bowling has been a bit of a worry, however. They have only one frontline wicket-taker in Nuwan Pradeep, and the others have been inconsistent.

Kandy, on the other hand, are coming off a convincing win over Jaffna Kings in the Eliminator. They scored 197-5 in their 20 overs, and the Kings were bowled out for 136.

The Kandy batting has been led by Dinesh Chandimal and Mohammad Haris, who have both scored centuries this season. They also have the experience of Angelo Mathews and Wanindu Hasaranga in the middle order.

Their bowling is their biggest strength, however. Hasaranga is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 22 wickets, and he is supported by Mujeeb ur Rahman and Nuwan Pradeep.

The weather forecast for the match is for a 50% chance of rain. If the match is interrupted by rain, it will be reduced to a 10-over-a-side affair.

The Titans will be looking to bounce back from their loss in Qualifier 1 and book their place in the final. Kandy, on the other hand, will be confident of continuing their winning run and reaching the final.

The match is evenly poised, but Kandy are the slight favorites. They have a better bowling attack and have been more consistent this season.
