Match Abandoned without toss

Commentry
Jasprit Bumrah collects the trophy and hands it over to the two youngsters, Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indians are all smiles as they pose for pictures in front of the Champions board. With this, we have come to the end of India's tour of Ireland. India's next assignment will be the Asia Cup starting on August 30th, which will be in the ODI format. In their opening encounter on September 2nd, they will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan. On the other hand, Ireland will travel to England for a three-match ODI series starting September 20th. Rest assured, there will be no shortage of cricketing action in the meantime. Cheers!
Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah is the Player of the Series. He says that it was frustrating waiting for the game to happen as the weather looked good earlier. Adds that it was nice being the captain and a lot of fun. Tells that everyone was enthusiastic even when the rain was around and you always take it when you get the chance to captain your country as it is an honour. Ends by saying that there are no injury issues and it is all good.
Ireland's skipper, Paul Stirling says that they had periods of good cricket in this series. Mentions that there were a lot of positives and will want to finish games off. Hopes to take the learnings from this series to upcoming games. States that it is brilliant to have India here for high-quality cricket in front of big crowds. Feels that it would have been good to get a game today and give chances to fresh faces. Ends by saying that this is the start of the build-up for the 2024 T20I World Cup.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
The rain has prevailed in the third and final T20I of the series, meaning India have clinched the series with a 2-0 scoreline. The forecast was always for rain, but it was not as bad as it turned out to be eventually. In what was a dead rubber, India were aiming for a 3-0 whitewash to cap off what has been a successful tour for them. On what has been a memorable day for Indians courtesy of the Chandrayaan-3 success, a clean sweep here would have been the icing on the cake, but nothing can dampen the spirits of Indian players and fans today. On the other hand, Ireland will have to wait a little longer for their first win against India in international cricket. But through this series, they have shown that they can give the top sides a run for their money, especially in the T20I format.
The inevitable has happened! The match has been CALLED OFF! Rain has played spoilsport in yet another cricket game but will have to move on. India wins the series 2-0 while Ireland can also take a few positives from this series and strengthen for their upcoming games.
UPDATE - 10.16 pm IST (4.46 GMT) -  Some good news coming from the middle as the rain has finally stopped and the covers are coming off for now. However, the ground staff will need to work against time to make the ground ready for the match. The drainage system here is good so we can be hopeful to see some action.
UPDATE - 10.00 pm IST (4.30 pm GMT) - The rain is refusing to relent and the umpires have scheduled another inspection at 10.15 pm IST (4.45 pm GMT). Also, the cut-off time for a 5 overs-per-side game is 11.17 pm IST (5.47 pm GMT). All we can do right now is hope that the rain gods show mercy on us and we can squeeze in some action. We will keep you posted.
UPDATE - 9.30 pm IST (4 pm GMT) - It is still raining in Malahide but the umpires have decided to do an inspection in about 20 minutes. We will keep you posted about any new updates.
UPDATE - 9.15 pm IST (3.45 pm GMT) -  We have officially started to lose overs now and the drizzle hasn't stopped yet. It is not looking good but keeping our fingers crossed to see some cricket here. Stay with us for more news.
UPDATE - 8.28 pm IST (2.58 pm GMT) - It continues to rain in Malahide! We will start losing overs from 9.15 pm IST (3.45 pm GMT). While we wait for the rain to subside, you can switch tabs and follow the action from The Hundred Women's 2023 where Manchester Originals are taking on Southern Brave. Stick around for more updates.
UPDATE - 7.39 pm IST (2.09 pm GMT) - Nothing new from the middle as it is still raining and the waiting game continues. We can only hope that it clears up quickly and that we get to see some action. Stick with us for more news.
UPDATE - 7.03 pm IST (1.33 pm GMT) - Uh oh! Unfortunately, it is currently raining at The Village in Malahide and the covers are firmly in place. As a result, the toss has been delayed for now. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that the weather clears up soon for us to have a prompt start. Stay tuned for further updates.
HISTORIC! INDIA IS NOW ON THE MOON! India's Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has made a successful soft landing on the moon's south pole. Aimed at studying the spectral and polarimetric measurements of Earth from the lunar orbit, India, with Chandrayaan-3, has entered uncharted territory. It is also important to note that no country has ever attempted a soft landing on the moon’s south polar region, and India is now the first country to do so and has done it successfully. Certainly a proud moment for each and every citizen of this proud nation!
India, on the other hand, may look to change a few things and give opportunity to different players. Ruturaj Gaikwad has looked in fine form and is their leading run-scorer in the series while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma haven't had much impact. However, Rinku Singh grabbed his opportunity with both hands and replicated his domestic performances to earn himself the Player of the Match Award in the last game. Jitesh Sharma may be given a chance in place of Sanju Samson as well. In the bowling, Jasprit Bumrah has made an excellent comeback to cricket and leads from the front with Prasidh Krishna and Arshdeep Singh while Ravi Bishnoi handles the spin department. It will be interesting to see how they line up for this match. Will India complete the whitewash? Or will Ireland cause an upset? We will find out soon. Toss and team news in a bit.
Ireland are going through a rough patch but will feel a bit unlucky losing the first game by just 2 runs (DLS method) or else things could have been different in this series. However, their batting has been inconsistent with Paul Stirling not able to score many at the top order while Lorcan Tucker has registered two ducks in a row now which is a worry for them. Their middle order though has performed well with Curtis Campher, Barry McCarthy, and Mark Adair all contributing with the runs. Andy Balbirnie will be key as he is coming on the back of a fine half-century in the previous game. Adair, Craig Young, and McCarthy have been impressive as a bowling unit and will want to continue their good form in this match as well and help their side to a famous win.
Hello and a warm welcome folks! India have already sealed this three-match T20I series against Ireland and will look for the whitewash now. The hosts have shown glimpses of quality in this series but it is still not enough to challenge a top quality side like India. Ireland will play for pride and hope to give their fans something to cheer for in this game.
... MATCH DAY ...
We are nearing the end of yet another bilateral series as Ireland and India square off for one last time in the 3rd and final T20I at Malahide in Dublin. As most of us would have expected, the visitors have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series but Ireland have certainly had their moments and did have a chance in the first match that was cut short due to rain. India though won the second game fairly convincingly as the batters put on a stellar show and then the bowlers backed them up as well. Having put into bat by the Irish skipper Paul Stirling. the pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad started firing early but they did lose a couple of quick wickets in the Powerplay. Gaikwad played the anchor role and scored a half-century before the likes of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh really upped the tempo. It was Singh who impressed most on his first-ever senior outing with the bat at the International level. Ireland had a similar story with the bat from the first game as they lost early wickets but Andy Balbirnie looked in sublime touch and went on to score 72. While chasing a score of more than 180, you do need more than one batter to step up and unfortunately for the home side, no one else got a 30-40 odd with tailender Mark Adair cutting the deficit with a fine cameo. The Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah looked very close to his best with the ball and led his side pretty well too. He will now have his focus on making a clean sweep but we might see the likes of Jitesh Sharma and a few others a game. Ireland do have enough individual talent to really challenge the Indian side but Paul Stirling needs to take more responsibility with the bat and their ace pacer, Joshua Little needs to fire as well. Can the Irish pull off an upset and give the home fans a big reason to rejoice? Or will a fairly inexperienced Indian team make it 3-0? We shall find out.

IND vs IRE Preview

India and Ireland will play the third and final T20I of the series on Wednesday, August 23 at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin. India has already won the series 2-0 and will be looking to complete a whitewash.

The pitch in Dublin is a batting-friendly wicket and is expected to help the batters once again. There is very slight assistance on offer for the pacers early on, and the spinners will have to toil hard for wickets on this track. There are also chances of rain during the match hours.

India will be unchanged from the side that won the second T20I. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Hardik Pandya are expected to form the batting line-up, while Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal will lead the bowling attack.

Ireland will need to make some changes to their side if they want to challenge India. Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie will need to give a good start to the innings, while Harry Tector and George Dockrell will need to contribute with the bat in the middle overs. Craig Young and Mark Adair will be the key bowlers for Ireland.

India is the clear favorite to win the third T20I. However, Ireland can’t be ruled out, especially if they get a good start.
