Domestic Career

In the CSA Provincial One-Day Competition against Border in December 2013, Rabada made his debut for Gauteng.

For the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, South Africa’s Under-19 team selected Rabada to play for them. He was the most effective bowler for the South Africans, who won the match, taking 14 wickets overall for a 2.10 economy rate. Additionally, he claimed the best performance of the competition: 6/25 against Australia A. He gained the reputation of being “the fastest and most feared bowler in the competition” as a result.

Rabada was inserted into Lion’s lineup for their final two Sunfoil Series games as a result of his performances at the Under-19 World Cup. In these two games, he took 7 wickets for a total of 186.

In the fourth Test against England at Centurion in 2016, Rabada recorded his first ten-wicket haul in a Test match.

In the game, he claimed 13 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls, and recorded his best bowling figures of 7/112 for England in the first innings. His second ten-wicket haul came in 2017 at Cape Town against Sri Lanka.
