Shai Hope was brilliant with the bat scoring 54 runs in 32 deliveries and cameos from Shimron Hetmyer, Keemo Paul, and Romario Shepherd pushed them close to the 200-run mark. Oshane Thomas claimed three wickets and Dominic Drakes chipped in with two but all the fast bowlers were quite expensive as they could not put a cap on the scoring rate throughout the inning. They left their batters with an uphill task to climb on a difficult wicket and they fell well short of completing their task.

Guyana Amazon Warriors were on the money right from the word go as Romario Shepherd and Keemo Paul claimed one wicket each in the Powerplay. Imran Tahir was expensive in his first over conceding 21 runs but once Evin Lewis was dismissed the spinners ruled the roost. Gudakesh Motie was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets and conceding 29 runs in his full quota of overs and the skipper chipped in with two wickets as well. Odean Smith and Dwaine Pretorius took one wicket a piece towards the end to ensure that all bowlers have at least one wicket under their belt. They will want to take this confidence into the tournament as they look to maintain their momentum.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were pegged back in the run chase early as they lost Andre Fletcher in the second over. Joshua Da Silva was also dismissed in the Powerplay but a counter-attacking knock from Evin Lewis kept them well in the hunt. He fell two runs short of his half-century and his wickets initiated a slide from which the Patriots never recovered. Ambati Rayudu stuck around in the middle scoring 32 runs in 24 deliveries but the rest of the batters were dismissed in single digits. They will be hoping for a better performance with the bat and the ball in their next encounter if they are to keep themselves alive in the tournament.

They have won by a massive margin of 65 runs and with this result, they now have 3 points in two games having seen their first game end with no result. They have been exceptional in all aspects of the game and Imran Tahir will be proud of his team’s efforts. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have had a game to forget and seem to be in all sorts of trouble after four games.
