After participating in the tour match that took place in August 2015 between the Indian national cricket team and the Sri Lanka Board President’s XI, he was selected to be a part of the 15-man squad that will compete in the three-match series. There were three contests in total throughout the series. In July 2016, he was selected to play for Sri Lanka in its Test matches against Australia, and he was handed a position on the team.
Back in March of 2018, he was offered a position on the Colombo team that will take part in the 2017–18 edition of the Super Four Provincial Tournament. Following that, in the following month, he was also selected to be a part of the team that will represent Colombo in the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament.

The first several years of operation
